Our new platform, SmartHub, is an industry-leading utility management solution trusted by millions of users nationwide offering a web portal as well as a new mobile app. We look forward to sharing more details in advance of go-live on September 8!

IMPORTANT DATES to remember

9/5/25 to 9/8/25

Payment Options Temporarily UnAvailable 

From 4:30 PM on Friday, September 5 to 8:30 AM on Monday, September 8, many HG&E payment options will not be available, as we move to our new SmartHub payment system. This includes all digital payment options (online, over-the-phone, text-to-pay...etc.). If you are currently enrolled in AutoPay, utility payments will be processed in the old system for all statements with a "bill date" prior to September 5th, 2025. All AutoPay customers will be required to reregister on September 8th. 

Because of this transition, HG&E will be working with customers to make this process as smooth as possible. We appreciate your patience as we make these important updates to our system.

SMarthub goes live, register for Autopay!

Our team has been working hard to get this new system ready for you. It’s going to make managing your account easier than ever. 
If you are currently enrolled in AutoPay, please make note that you will need to re-register for each service the week of September 8th in order to avoid payment interruption. Utility payments will be processed in the old system for all statements with a "bill date" prior to September 5th, 2025. All AutoPay customers will be required to reregister on September 8th. HG&E will provide additional information for AutoPay customers before go-live.

Attention AutoPay Customers

If you were previously using HG&E's AutoPay option, you will need to create a new account in SmartHub and re-enroll in AutoPay. Instructions for how to register your account and set-up AutoPay will be available on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Yes. All critical information is encrypted in every transaction run and no personal information is stored on your phone or tablet.

Mobile devices do offer you the ability to store your login information for apps installed on the device. If you choose to store your login information, any person who has access to your mobile device can access your account.

Both platforms are part of our online account management system for customers.

Both the web version and mobile app allow you to securely access account information, change your personal information, manage notifications, update stored payment methods, view bills and payment history, make payments, and report issues.

The free, secure mobile app is available to download and install on mobile devices and tablets.

No. You can take advantage of all the features of SmartHub or you can continue to pay your bill as you currently do.

HG&E offers a variety of convenient payment options!

Yes. SmartHub shows all of your accounts, along with the amounts due for those accounts. You may make a payment to a single account or multiple accounts from both the website and mobile app.

The information you see in the app and on the website is shown in real-time.

However, if you keep your app or web version open for an extended time, you should refresh the page by selecting a new option in order to ensure the information is current.

Please know that throughout this communication process, we will never call or email you to ask for credit card numbers, bank account routing numbers or any other type of personal information.

If you do receive such communication from someone claiming to be an HG&E employee, please report it to us.
